ABOUT Joe Santoro, Founder
Joe Santoro is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a man devoted to his family and his fellow Americans. With a sincere passion for helping people become their best selves, Joe has created the Santoro Education Lifeskills Foundation (SELF).
Throughout Joe’s career he owned, operated, and grew a commercial maintenance business. This business included commercial real estate development, building construction, leasing, and managing millions of square feet of prime office space. Through growing this business, Joe interacted and dealt with all different types of people across various cultures. These people included hourly workers, union workers, managers, CEO’s, government officials, litigators, and board members. From these daily interactions, Joe learned many valuable life skills and quickly realized the sooner these skills are learned in life, the better a person will be. He found these skills had a name; Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).
Joe is now the proud founder of SELF, where he focuses on advocating, collaborating, and promoting Social Emotional Learning (SEL) for ALL as early in life as possible. He has created the All Children First action plan, to give direction on how our government without raising taxes can fund quality early learning for ALL children 0 to 5 years old by reducing 3% of the government waste. In addition to All Children First, Joe has also created the Alive2Thrive program that gives students, parents, teachers, and mentors a comprehensive online social and emotional learning curriculum. Joe strongly believes an SEL program should be mandated and taught as a core subject in public schools K-12.
Today, Joe continues to use his skill sets and business accolades to push forward his foundation to promote the importance of Social and Emotional Learning for ALL.
